a blacklight spectacle

„Die Schneekönigin“ is a black light show developped in 2021 based on the story „The Snow Queen“ by Hans Christian Andersen. White and fluorescent colors glow in the dark space, bringing the story to life in breathtaking form. A narrator and dancers take the audience on the journey of Gerda and Kai, the protagonists of the story. Gymnasts with their acrobatic interludes on the airtrack and on the swinging rings, become part of the stage set by the special lighting. The music composed for the piece is played by a live orchestra.
storyline
The Snow Queen by Hans Christian Andersen is one of his most complex and sophisticated fairy tales. Kai, a little boy, is kidnapped by the Snow Queen. The little girl Gerda sets out to find her playmate. Despite dangers and adversities, Gerda finds her brother and is able to free him. In „The Snow Queen“ Andersen addresses the themes of growing up, the happiness of simple and good people and pleads to remain a child at heart.
